ABOUT NWGN-STL:
Guided by the mission to promote networking, support, and self-reliance among Nepali women, the Nepali Women's Global Network, St. Louis Chapter is a member chapter of the Parent Organization Nepali Women's Global Network in the United States.
The NWGN St. Louis Chapter is a non-profit, non-partisan, volunteer-based organization registered in the state of Missouri that strives to empower Nepali women and the Nepali community as a whole, in a supportive global network of friendship and understanding to promote shared responsibility that cultivates social change.
To achieve its goal, the NWGN St. Louis Chapter seeks to:
Promote close cooperation and alliance among Nepali women, the Nepali Community and friends of Nepal in the state of Missouri and neighboring states through educational, charitable, social, and cultural activities
Provide opportunities for Nepali women and the Nepali community to enhance professional development, networking, and collaboration through cultural awareness and community service activities in the greater St. Louis area
Support charitable organizations located in the United States and Nepal that are committed to helping underprivileged and at risk populations in Nepal by establishing partnerships and expanding their fundraising efforts
The above mentioned objectives will be fulfilled through the following activities:
For the Nepali Community in St. Louis, NWGN plans to provide-
discussion forums, speaker series, cultural events, and promotion of a Nepali Diaspora in St. Louis.
For the greater St. Louis Community in which we live, NWGN strives to be engaged in community service programs helping the St. Louis community , making our presence felt in this community, raising awareness about Nepali culture, and strengthening collaborations with area organizations.
As an obligation to give back to the country we love, NWGN aims to support organizations that are helping Nepal through volunteering, partnering, and assisting in their fundraising efforts. NWGN will network with organizations in Nepal and to help sponsor their projects/programs serving at risk populations.
